For the past several hundred years there’s been a schism in Western Civilization between those involved in spiritual searches and those involved in scientific pursuits. As a result, the information obtained by either group has not been shared with the other—much to the detriment of our growth as individuals and as a society.
As we enter the 21st century, though, we are entering a new era. Much is possible now that never was before. For the first time in centuries we are in a position to integrate both scientific knowledge and spiritual wisdom into a cohesive whole, improving the quality of both through a holistic approach. We can recognize that there are many interlocking systems at play, many of which we can observe with our physical senses, and many of which we cannot; and we can no longer deny the effect that the unseen has on the seen.

Here we recognize that it’s not possible to truly understand any individual piece without considering the whole; that effective growth cannot happen without balance; that the integration of mind, body and spirit are necessary for a whole individual, and that only a whole individual can truly experience, much less contribute to, the life of the community in which they live.
